Welcome to my corner of the internet!
My name is Abhilasha Salunia, and I'm a tree hugger, sunset lover, and music fanatic based in New Jersey.
I recently completed my undergraduate studies at Rutgers University in Cognitive Science and Psychology, and I'm continuing my studies at Rutgers as a Master of Business and Science (MBS) student, concentrating in UX Design.
I have always had a passion for anything involving creativity and design, and after joining some UI/UX based clubs on campus, I realized that I could channel this energy into creating products and services that provide meaningful and positive experiences for users. As a constant learner and puzzle enthusiast, technology intrigues me because it is ever-evolving, so working with technology will constantly put my problem-solving skills to the test. I love that designers have the ability to take on diverse roles, and there's so much more for me to explore!
Fun Facts!
I'm a studio photographer. Photography is one of my favorite hobbies, and love taking pictures whenever I travel. I am currently working as a professional family photographer at JCPenney Portraits and absolutely love doing fun photoshoots (especially with children) and sending families home with a smile.
I'm fluent in 3 languages. As a child, I learned English, Hindi, and Gujarati, and I taught Sunday School students how to read, write, and speak in Hindi for 5 years. Being multilingual has created so many opportunities for me and has led me to develop a deeper appreciation for the intricacies and nuances of language.
I'm a black belt in taekwondo. I started taekwondo when I was 12 years old, and I now compete at the intercollegiate level with the Rutgers University taekwondo team. Joining such a hardworking group of people has motivated me to be the best version of myself, helped me build self-confidence, and taught me the importance of teamwork and discipline.
